Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongju signed a Memorandum of erstanding (MoU) for an investment worth KRW 6.5 billion with Ilji Tech Co., Ltd. at the company’s Gyeongju plant on July 18, with the attendance of 20 people including Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-Woo, Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young, Ilji Tech Chairman Koo Bon-Il, and Ilji Tech President Koo Jun Mo.
Following this, from the second half of 2019 to 2021, Ilji Tech plans to hire about 100 new employees and invest in new and additional facilities that manufacture eco-friendly automotive parts, such as doors, bonnets, and car bodies, on 25,740 ㎡ of land within Mohwa General Industrial Complex and Oedong General Industrial Complex in Gyeongju.
The investment is designed to respond swiftly to the growing demand for future eco-friendly vehicles despite difficult economic conditions. By introducing a smart factory system that combines ICT and the machinery industry, the company aims to achieve global sales of KRW 1 trillion by 2025 and become one of the global top 10 ps in the automotive parts industry.
Foed in 1986 in Daegu, Ilji Tech is a representative indigenous company operating in Gyeongsan (head office), Gyeongju, and Beijing in China, and a key partner of Hyai Kia Motors.
Ilji Tech was listed on KOSDAQ in 1992, and its R&D center was established in 1996. Selected as a Hidden Champion business in 2012, it then obtained Hyai Motor’s Quality 5 Star certification and was chosen as part of the World Class 300 in 2016.
Since its foation, the company has strived to secure new technologies and competitiveness d on continuous innovation and growth in an effort to become a global auto parts manufacturer.
