Gyeongsangbuk-do Province is supporting fishery businesses that raise fish and release massively high quality species of fish. It is establishing artificial fishing reefs, multi-purpose port facilities as well as fishery infrastructures in order to respond actively to the the Korea-Japan Fisheries Agreement and the Korea-China Fisheries Agreement.

Research Centers for Developing Fish Resources
The Provincial Fishery Resource Development Institute was established in October
of 1998
- Over 3 million high quality fish are raised and released every year.
The Provincial Research Center for Freshwater Fishery was established in July, 1996
- Over 2.65 million high quality fish in fresh water every year are raised and   released.
- The Exhibition for Freshwater Fish Environment & Ecology System were   established in 2006.
