Purposes of Establishment

This aims at seeking the democracy and efficiency of local governments' administration and intending the balanced development of regions and democratic development of Korea .

Duties

Local governments should make efforts for promotion of residents' convenience and welfare in processing the affairs. Local governments should make efforts for rationalization of the organizations and operations and intend the propriety of the size. Local governments cannot handle the affairs against regulations or ordinances of higher local governments.
