On June 20 (Thursday) at the Yecheon-gun Office Building, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Yecheon-gun signed an investment memorandum of erstanding (MOU) with Dooil Can & Cap Co., Ltd., a plastic container manufacturer.
The signing ceremony was attended by Gyeongsangbuk-do Vice Governor for Economic Planning Woo Hyun Jun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Members Gi Wook Do and Hee Young Ahn, Yecheon-gun Council Vice Chairperson Hyang Sun Shin, and Dooil Can & Cap Co., Ltd. CEO Mun Gyu Kang.
Having its head office in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, Dooil Can & Cap Co., Ltd. manufactures plastic caps, aluminum caps, rug caps, and other container parts. With an annual turnover of KRW 9.3 billion, this small yet strong company exports its products to Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe.
er the MOU, Dooil Can & Cap Co., Ltd. agreed to invest KRW 20 billion for three years until 2022 in a beverage container manufacturing facility to be built on a 18,294.6 ㎥ area inside the Yecheon 2nd Agro-Industrial Complex. The investment is expected to drive Yecheon-gun’s plan to become a mecca of the beverage industry. The Korean beverage market’s annual worth currently stands at KRW 200 billion.
According to Dooil Can & Cap Co., Ltd., the company chose Yecheon-gun because of its rich natural resources (including its fine-tasting spring water) and low rental fees; the tenacity of the Yecheon-gun officials tasked with securing investment; and the prospect of collaborating with related companies in the county such as Tulip International Co., Ltd.; NLF&B Inc.; and OKF Corporation in the Andong Bio Industrial Complex.
