Her Majesty Queen Magrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of the Kingdom of Denmark are scheduled to make a state visit to Korea from Oct. 8 to 12, 2007.
President Roh Moo-hyun will meet with Queen Magrethe on Oct. 8 and discuss matters of mutual interest, including ways to enhance friendly relations and educational exchanges between the two countries. They will also exchange views on history and culture.
A Danish business delegation will accompany the Queen. The delegation will consist of 33 heads of businesses, including 21 companies headquartered in Denmark, three subsidiary companies in Asia and nine in Korea. During the visit, Queen Margrethe will attend a state dinner, tour major local businesses and visit cultural sites, including Bulguksa (temple) in Gyeongju as well as Bongjeongsa (temple) and Dosan seowon (Confucian academy with a shrine) in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province Gyeongsangbuk-do
Queen Magrethe is the first head of state of Denmark to visit Korea since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1959. The state visit is anticipated to serve as a crucial turning point for two countries to expand substantive cooperative relations.
