Gyeongsangbuk-do Signs the First MoU in 2021 with SNB International
- The tuna processing and exporting company will build a new plant in Cheongdo-gun, with a target revenue of KRW 200 billion -
◦ Gyeongsangbuk-do and Cheongdo-gun announced the signing of a memorandum of erstanding (MoU) worth KRW 15 billion with SNB International Co., Ltd., a tuna processing and exporting company, on January 13 (Wednesday). The signing ceremony took place at the Grand Conference Room at the Cheongdo-gun Office building.
◦ The investment will allow SNB International to build state-of-the-art hygiene management and production system, leading to global-level quality and price competitiveness. The company expects that the investment will propel its growth into a global business with a target revenue of KRW 200 billion.
◦ The signing ceremony was attended by SNB International CEO Oh Dong-hwan, Gyeongsangbuk-do Vice Governor for Economic Planning Ha Dae-sung, Cheongdo-gun Governor Lee Seung-yool, Gyeongsangbuk-do Council Members Park Kuen-hyun, Kim Ha-soo, and Lee Sun-hee, and Cheongdo-gun Council Chairman Kim Su-tae.
◦ According to SNB International, the company plans to invest KRW 15 billion in Songeup-ri, Cheongdo-eup, Cheongdo-gun to build a new plant including refrigeration facilities for tuna dissection and processing, processing lines, packaging lines, and a shipping area, thereby creating twenty new jobs.
◦ Vice Governor Ha Dae-sung commented, “We will lead the efforts to build success stories for businesses investing in Gyeongsangbuk-do, address various challenges hindering business investments, and thereby foster a business-friendly environment in the province.”
